The alarm sounds at 4:15 AM. By 5:00, Marco is at the flower market, selecting stems by the glow of overhead halogen lamps while the rest of the city still sleeps. He inspects each bloom for firmness, color saturation, and petal count — rejecting anything that does not meet our standard.
By 7:00, the studio is alive with activity. Buckets are cleaned, water is mixed with precise ratios of flower food, and stems are processed — thorns removed, leaves stripped, ends recut. Elena reviews the day's orders: a bridal bouquet for a noon ceremony, sympathy arrangements for a 2 PM service, a corporate installation for an evening gala.
The design process begins around 8:30. Each arrangement is built by hand, stem by stem, with no shortcuts. Ribbon is measured, ironed, and tied with a specific bow style unique to each order. By 10:00, the delivery vehicles are loaded and the first drivers depart.
It is physical, meticulous work. And there is nowhere else we would rather be.
